Multi-sensory techniques have been used in teaching for centuries, and have proven that learning through experience is by far the best way to integrate information we are wanting to fully understand. Our brain is processing information at an unfathomable pace—not only the stimuli from the environment around us, but also all of the information we are processing via our minds. Thoughts are transient – untouchable – and yet play a huge role in the way we perceive life and react within it. These virtual realities that we create for ourselves can be very difficult to slow down, to examine, to break down. When we are either not aware of what we think about, or do not have control over what we think about, we are on auto-pilot—and our lives are on auto-pilot as well. Our thoughts control the way we perceive and act, and many times, our thoughts (and subsequent actions) are not in-line with what we want our lives to look like. The Clay Coach takes clients’ thoughts, core beliefs, and behaviors outside of their head and into reality by using the simplicity of clay. We are not talking about “playing with clay” here, we are talking about creation. When completely immersed in the act of creation, we fully experience what we are creating, and therefore fully internalize it. The use of clay is pivotal in taking intangible ideas and bringing them into the real world—from thought, through hands, and onto the table. Here, they can be analyzed, desensitized, and resolved. When we use clay to form representations of ourselves, our thought patterns, our desires/goals, and ideas, we allow for the deepest levels of introspection and healing. When we use the act of creation via clay, in conjunction with our intention, we can release—and change—old thought patterns and negative core beliefs which are holding us back. If we aren’t creating what we want in our lives, we must examine what thoughts or beliefs are consciously or subconsciously sabotaging our ability to do so. Examining and changing our thought patterns becomes easy when we can physically see what they are and how they are holding us back. Using clay enables us to do just that. The Clay Coach uses simple, but highly effective techniques to bring awareness to what you are thinking about. By creating a model of a negative thought pattern in clay, you will begin to see, in concrete form, how that thought pattern is blocking you in your life. Creating a representation of the new thinking pattern that would better serve your life, you are creating an intention that sticks in your mind. On the left side, she represents her negative thought patterns with respect to money. On the right side, she creates the desired thought pattern (bringing what she wants into the NOW and giving her subconscious specific instructions on what she now wants her thinking to reflect).
Left balloon shows self thinking things like: “I never have any money! Whatever comes in immediately goes out!” She has an empty purse and is very stressed!
The right balloon shows the dichotomy of the negative thought: “I have more than enough money! I have more money than I could ever need!”
Now she can declare her intention to release the negative thought patterns that are blocking her from receiving money (YES, thoughts are blocking her) and that she now chooses to replace those thoughts with thoughts of prosperity and having more than enough money!
With her new intention, she now removes the negative thoughts from the table – rolls them into a big clay ball – and declares her intention to let them go. Lastly, she returns to her model and reiterates her intentions for positive thoughts.
By removing the negative thought balloon, all you are left with is your positive intention!
